Hound is the first public-site agent detector. It scores every session that touches a dealership website in real time. Human. Uncertain. Likely agent. Agent. Verified. The traffic was always there. Now it has a label.

Most dealerships look at their analytics and see a single number called "sessions." Hound breaks that number into five labels. That is the difference between a dealer who can see and a dealer who cannot. Today most dealers cannot see. The first ones who can will own the relationships those agents bring.

9% of every session that touches a Mark Miller Subaru website is being driven by an AI agent. The number was 0% two years ago. It will not be 9% next year. The curve is steep.
How It Works

Detection now.
Verification next.

Behavioral Scoring

Every session that touches a Mark Miller Subaru website is scored in real time. User-agent strings, request patterns, header signatures, navigation behavior, and fingerprint analysis combine into a label. The label arrives within milliseconds of the request. The session is tagged before the page finishes loading.

Cryptographic Verification

When an agent presents a signed identity, Hound checks the signature against trusted operator registries. Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, CarEdge, and other known operators can be verified in real time. A verified agent is not a threat. It is a warm lead. The emerald label is reserved for them.

The Five Labels

Not all agents
are equal.

Human

A person browsing the site. Probably from a phone. Probably looking at inventory. Treat them the way you always have.

Uncertain

The signals do not yet add up to a confident label. Likely a real human, possibly a scraper or low-signal bot. Hound holds judgment until enough evidence accumulates.

Likely Agent

Multiple signals suggest agent activity but identity is not yet confirmed. This is where most of the action lives today. The agents are here. They just have not announced themselves.

Agent

Confirmed AI agent traffic based on behavioral and technical signatures. Identity unknown but classification certain. An agent visited the site. Now we have a record.

Verified

A named, cryptographically authenticated agent operator. Claude. ChatGPT. CarEdge. Others as they emerge. A verified agent is a warm lead, not a threat. The dealer's agent can meet it directly through dmc-12.

Why This Matters

You cannot manage
what you cannot see.

The CRM gave dealers a way to manage human leads. It worked because every lead was a phone number, a name, an inbox to reply to. The lead announced itself. The agent does not. The agent arrives without ceremony, looks at inventory, sometimes asks for a quote, and leaves no trace in the systems most dealers operate.

Hound is the first step in fixing that. Before the dealership can deploy its own agent to meet a buyer's agent, the dealership has to know the agent is there. Detection comes first. Deployment comes second. Without detection, deployment is guessing.

The dealer who sees the agents owns the relationships they bring. The dealer who cannot will pay someone else for access to their own customers.

Every dealership in the country has agent traffic right now. Most of them have no idea. The traffic shows up in their analytics as "direct" or "unknown" or sometimes flagged as a bot they should block. It is not a bot to block. It is a buyer to greet. Hound makes the distinction visible. The ARM acts on it.
