Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers.

What is The ARM?

The ARM builds AI infrastructure for automotive retail. It created the Agentic Dealer Network, the open protocol underneath it, and the products that prove the platform works. One team, one architecture, running on a real lot today.

What is the Agentic Dealer Network?

An open network that connects dealership inventory to AI agents. When a customer’s AI assistant shops for a car, the network is how it finds a real store, reads live inventory, gets a real price, and starts a real deal. Built by The ARM. Open to the industry. The overview lives at /adn.

What is DealerMCP?

The on-ramp. DealerMCP is the free MCP server that makes your store readable and usable by AI shopping assistants and puts your rooftop on the network. Your website and your existing inventory feed are all you need. Start at dealermcp.ai.

What does it cost?

Listing on the network is free and stays free. Lead delivery is free today. If an optional paid service ever exists, it will be exactly that, optional, with 60 days written notice first.

How does an AI agent buy a car?

The agent reads live inventory, gets an itemized out-the-door price built from the parameters the dealer set in advance, values the trade, holds a real VIN, and delivers the whole deal into the dealer’s existing systems. Not a lead to chase. A deal, nearly finished.

Do I have to change my systems?

No. Nothing about your process changes on day one. Your inventory feed is mapped once, and the deal arrives in the format your store already consumes. No new stack. No lock-in.

Who controls the deal?

The dealer. You set the price parameters, the fees, the disclosures, and where a deal must stop and wait for a human. Inside those parameters, nothing waits. Every number is computed, never invented, and every step lands on an audit trail.

Is this live today?

Yes. The reference implementation has run in production at Mark Miller Subaru since April 2026. Real quotes, real holds, real handoffs. Any AI agent can shop it right now through dealermcp.ai, no account required.

What are the products?

Four, one verb each. GEO discovers. The Hound detects. Jennifer trusts. DMC-12 transacts. Two free tools ride along: the Vendor Check and the Safeguards Scorecard.

How do I get started?

Dealers start at dealermcp.ai. Agent builders and dealer-software companies can build against the open protocol at dmc-12.ai. Everyone else: chris@thearm.ai. We would rather build it with the industry than for it.
